Andrew McNaughton joined Whakaata Māori as Tāhuhu Hangarau in August 2021.

McNaughton is an experienced leader, known for developing high-trust relationships and people throughout organisations. A collaborative communicator, he builds engagement through empowering and involving others in the design and delivery against strategic priorities.

McNaughton has extensive experience in the media broadcasting industry, having started out his career in News Operations at TVNZ for six years, before moving on to the New Zealand Racing Board where he was the Head of Operations.

He moved back into the broadcasting space at Outside Broadcasting Limited where he was the General Manager for about six years prior to his appointment at Whakaata Māori.
