If you are concerned about the content of a television programme broadcast on Whakaata Māori or the Te Reo channel, you are entitled by law to complain and to have your complaint taken seriously. If you have a complaint, you must write to the broadcaster in the first instance, within 20 working days of the programme screening.

The Broadcasting Standards Authority was set up under the Broadcasting Act 1989 to oversee broadcasting standards in New Zealand. Their role is to decide on complaints that broadcasts have breached BSA standards. Find out more about them at the Broadcasting Standards Authority website.

If you are concerned about the content of an advertisement on Whakaata Māori or Te Reo Channel, you should direct your complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.
